June 10 – Update

  • Alberta Government has confirmed arenas have been moved to “PHASE 2” and rinks can open by June 12

  • As indicated in the last update - getting rinks back on-line takes at least one week and many arenas were guided they would not be allowed to re-open till Aug at the earliest so several started to do long lead time maintenance projects.

  • At this time, we have reached out to all of the rinks we deal with and all are trying to process what it will take to open and also determining when they can re-open. No defined dates have been provided.

  • We are hopeful that all rinks we deal with will be back on-line for our Aug camps, however his is completely out of our control.

  • For our July ice the City of Calgary will not at this time give us any confirmation if Rose Kohn will open, so we are currently looking at alternatives.

  • We will be posting our summer programs back on the website, and hopefully over the next few days we will have guidance from arenas on when they will open and can open up registrations again.

  • We are currently working with our registration service provider to provide a solution where we can accept registrations but not charge credit cards, till we get confirmation that rinks will open.

  • Message remains the same if arenas do not open back-up in time for the camp you are registered in, we will provide full refunds or credits that don’t expire.  We have over 60 summer camps and over 1,000 registrants, so we ask that you be patient and allow us to determine what rinks will re-open and when.
